APPLICATIONS

1. Binders for mica powder or fragments, fabricating insulation mica sheets, mica tube, and mica profiles used in high voltage motor.

2. Binders for glass fiber cloth to fabricate laminate or protective parts of electrics/electronics.

3. Used as base of special coatings, to fabricate heat stability coatings, weather-ability coatings, friction resistance high hardness coatings, non-blocking release coatings, ablation resistance coatings, and waterproof coatings for building.

4. Binders for graphite, to make pencil core with fabrication resistance and lubricity.

5. Can be blended into silicone rubber to increase the adhesive strength of the silicone rubber. Primer may be required to enhance the bonding strength of the binder to the backing material.

6. Other potential applications.

HOW TO USE

First, add the catalyst into the binder solution and mix thoroughly, then spray, roll, or dip the mixture on the surface of pretreated powders or substrate (If there is alkali on the treated surface, the thorough removal of alkali is essential until neutral reached). The material should be allowed to stand for 30 minutes at room temperature to ensure solvent evaporation before heat curing.

Secondly, pre-cure under heating of 110℃ for 5 minutes, then cool the material, and pretreated sheets with good adhesion and cohesion could be got.

Finally, compression molding the pretreated sheets under heating of 180℃ and pressure of 0.5-10 mpa for 1-2 hours to get the final laminate or profiles.

PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION

1. Factors that may influence performance are binder concentration, curing agent (or no need curing agent ) addition level, coating thickness, cooling rate and hold time, and the backing material.

2. Catalyst concentration can be varied from 0 to 0.5%, depending upon gelation time required.

3. For use as binder, the recommended dosage ranges from 5% to 10% of the binder in the backing material.

4. For use in coating and surface treatment, the recommended solvents are toluene, xylene, non polar or low polar mixing solvent.

5. The DY-102 Binder contains highly flammable and easily volatile solvent. Keep away from heat and open flames. Removal of the solvent is suggested.

6. This products is a 30% solution. It can be diluted with toluene, xylene, or chlorofluorocarbon solvent to 1-3 times of original solution.

STORAGE

Store at room temperature in original unopened containers. Use with adequate ventilation in work areas.
