DESCRIPTION

DY-101E/101M Silicone Resin is a silicone resin pre-polymer in ethanol/methanol solution. The product is designed to meet the challenging needs of the market, including moisture resistance, thermal stability and optical transmittance. It can provide tough transparent silicone resin film on various substrates.

This product can be dissolved in solvents such as ethanol, butanol, amyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, and acetone.

APPLICATIONS

1. Protective coatings (metal, plastics, glass, etc.)

5. Surface treatment in RTV silicone rubber and metal surface bonding.

HOW TO USE

Using alcohol or other solvents to dilute DY-101E/101M to 1~10 times of original weight. Choose appropriate methods such as spraying or brushing to apply the mixtures on the treated surface. The mixture can be either room temperature or heat cured. Room temperature cure may also be accelerated for faster cure by adding compatible curing agent. The suggested use level of the curing agent is 0.1~1% of the system.

PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION

This product is flammable. It is dangerous similar as methanol and anhydrous alcohol. Contacting with light, heat, air, acids, or bases will accelerate polymerizing of the product. Keep away from heat and open flame. Keep in a cold and dull place at low temperature.

The mixture blended with curing agent must be used as soon as possible as prolonged standing may cause depolymerizing. It is suggested to add glacial acetic acid 1.6 times of curing agent in weight to the mixture to act as polymerization inhibitor. This way the pot life can be prolonged to 8-12 hours.

Adding 1-2% DBP or polyether modified silicone oil may increase flexible of the coating.

STORAGE

When stored at room temperature in the original unopened containers, this product has a usable life of 3 months from the date of manufacture.
